Patsy Palmer sports a colourful kaftan as she shares a kiss with husband Richard Merkell during family day out in Malibu... after confirming her return to EastEnders
Work commitments took a backseat as Patsy Palmer shared a kiss with husband Richard Merkell during a family trip in southern California on Sunday afternoon.
The actress, best known for her role as quilted-jacket clad Bianca Jackson in BBC soap EastEnders, locked lips with Richard as they relaxed on Malibu beach with their three children.
Taking to Instagram, Patsy, 47, posted a snap of her husband - with whom she exchanged vows 19-years ago - planting the kiss as they posed arm in arm in front of the crashing surf.

Captioning the image, she wrote: 'Still in love.'
Making it a family affair, the couple's children Fenton, 19, Emilia, 18, and Bertie, eight, joined their parents for the trip, along with actor friends Chazz Nittolo and Tolula Adeyemi.
Dressed appropriately in a colourful kaftan and sandals, the British star was in understandably high spirits as she carried the family's rackets across the beach.

Patsy relocated to Malibu following her departure from EastEnders, but she will soon be returning to the soap that made her a household name.
It will be the third time the actress has reprised her role as Bianca in 25 years, and she admits the popular character is due a return to Walford.
Discussing her last exit from the show during an appearance on This Morning, she said: 'She [Bianca] met a guy called Terry, fell in love and became happy. She left and went to Milton Keynes and has been trying to get off that roundabout.

'It was hinted that all was not well in her new life when her daughter Tiffany ditched her family to come back to Albert Square last year, and it remains to be seen whether there will be fireworks when the mother and daughter are reunited.'
'I've seen bits of what Maisie's [who plays Tiffany] been doing. You go and then all of a sudden she's a woman. She's such a great actress. It's a bit odd if major characters don't return when something happens.'
Due to Patsy's life being based in Malibu now it would have been unrealistic for her to have come back to the soap on a more permanent basis.
She added: 'Usually they have people back and you have to be there for a year and that's how the contracts are but that wouldn't work for me.
'When they said do you want to come back for a short stint I was like yeah. It's so lovely. I'm friends with every single person.'
Good times: Patsy was also joined by actress friend Tolula Adeyemi, who later shared her own snap of the family enjoying lunch from a trestle table as they relaxed on the sand
