Spotify streaming statistics for 6ix9ine and YNW Melly are insane

Despite their controversial positions, the two rappers dominated the radio waves.

If you are streaming music on SpotifyFor the past twelve months, today is a big day for you. With the end of the year (and the decade !!!) fast approaching, the streaming giant has released its data-based findings for the 2019 edition of Spotify Wrapped. Each year, the service compiles all your listening statistics to make a great list of your favorite artists that year, the best song for you, and how many hours you spent dissecting your recordings. This is also an important day for the artists themselves and their labels, which receive their annual numbers, including: how many broadcasts they have totaled, how many countries have checked them, the number of hours their music has been consumed, and more. DJ Akademiks has been sharing a lot of artist statistics and when it comes to Tekashi 6ix9ine and YNW Melly, you can't exactly be surprised by their performance.

Both rappers spent most of this year behind bars. 6ix9ine is expected to receive a light sentence in the coming weeks for her role in the Nine Trey Bloods extortion case. As for YNW Melly, he is awaiting his trial after indulging in two counts of murder. Neither of them released much music this year, which makes their numbers even more impressive.

Both have won over one billion broadcasts on Spotify in the last twelve months, with 6ix9ine having nearly 61 million unique listeners in 79 countries. YNW Melly has similar statistics, reaching 20 million fewer listeners, but with the same number of broadcasts.
